Classroom Procedures
Students are expected to come to class, get their planners filled out, and complete a list of their missing work from Power School. This list will be a record of their missing assignments and what they have turned in. The completion of this work will determine the majority of their grade for this class. Half of the class time will be devoted to getting missing work done, and half of the class time will be devoted to working on new homework for this week. Students who come prepared may listen to music on their own device. If a student has more than 5 missing assignments on Friday, that student must attend lunch detention for the following week (one day with each core teacher) in the hopes of getting under 5 missing assignments. The other portion of their grade for this class, is based on work ethic in class; this is a scale grade worth 3 points per class.
For example, if a student has 4 missing assignments on Monday, the student would create a list of what those were using Power School. If a student were to come into class with the list and all the missing assignment material, the student could then work on the missing work while listening to their own music with headphones. Then, on Wednesday or A-day Friday's the student would turn in the list with all turned in assignments crossed off. If the student were to complete all 4 missing assignments, they would get 10/10 points for the week. If this same student was working hard in class all week they would get 3/3 points for each day the class met that week. Each week students can potentially earn 13 points.
